Hot and dry weather is expected to dominate most parts of Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and dry weather across most parts of the country during the next 24 hours. Very hot conditions are expected to persist during daytime over southern and central regions.

However, isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms are likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas. Hailstorms may also occur at isolated locations during this period.

In Islamabad and surrounding areas hot and dry weather is expected during the day. There is a 55 percent probability of rain-windstorms and thunderstorms, accompanied by isolated hail, during the evening and night hours.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, partly cloudy conditions are likely across most districts. However, isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms are expected in several areas including Dir, Swat, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Bajaur, Kalam, Chitral, Buner, Kohat, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Malakand, Parachinar, Kurram, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, Karak, and Waziristan, with a possibility of hail in some locations.

Punjab is expected to remain mainly hot and dry, while central and southern districts will continue to experience very hot conditions. However, isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms may occur in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Sargodha, Noorpur Thal, Khushab, Jhang, Mianwali, Layyah, and Bhakkar.

Sindh will remain mainly hot and dry with very hot conditions expected in upper districts. Balochistan is also likely to experience hot and dry weather overall, though partly cloudy conditions with isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms are expected in Zhob, Sibi, Barkhan, Loralai, and Musakhel during afternoon hours.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are forecast to experience partly cloudy weather with isolated rain-windstorms and thunderstorms, while hail may also occur at isolated locations in Kashmir.
