Pakistan suffer 104-run defeat against Bangladesh in first Test

DHAKA: Pakistan endured a heavy defeat in the Dhaka Test as Bangladesh outclassed the visitors by 104 runs in Mirpur.

In the match played in Mirpur, Bangladesh declared their second innings at 240 for 9, setting Pakistan a target of 268 runs for victory on the final day.

However, the Pakistan batting lineup collapsed once again and were bowled out for 163 runs in the chase.

Debutant Abdullah Fazal was the top scorer for Pakistan with 66 runs, while no other batter managed a significant contribution.

Salman Agha scored 26 runs, while Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shakeel, and Azan Owais added 15 runs each. Noman Ali scored 4, Imam-ul-Haq and captain Shan Masood made 2 runs each, Hasan Ali scored 1, while Shaheen Shah Afridi was dismissed without scoring.

For Bangladesh, Nahid Rana claimed five wickets, while Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed took two wickets each. Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up one wicket.

Earlier, Bangladesh had posted 413 runs in their first innings after Pakistan opted to field first. In response, Pakistan scored 386 runs in their first innings.
