Pakistan, Qatar vow for facilitating ongoing peace efforts Middle East

Qatar premier expresses ‘deep appreciation’ for Pakistan’s continued efforts to bring peace and stability to region

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his Qatari counterpart reaffirmed their strong commitment to facilitating ongoing efforts to ensure lasting peace in the region amid the conflict between the United States and Iran.

PM Shehbaz received a telephone call from Qatari PM and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman during which they held a “productive exchange of views” on the current regional situation.

While recalling his recent visit to Doha on April 16, PM Shehbaz said that his meeting with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the rest of the Qatari leadership was very helpful in forging a consensus for the peace efforts.

He said that the people of Pakistan were looking forward to the visit of the Qatari emir at an early date and that his visit would help to further strengthen and deepen ties.

The Qatar premier expressed “deep appreciation” for Pakistan’s continued efforts to bring peace and stability to the region.

He assured the PM Shehbaz that Qatar would continue to support diplomatic efforts spearheaded by Pakistan to ensure the security and stability of the Middle East.

Both leaders agreed to maintain close communication and coordination on all issues of mutual interest.
