Pehsawar Zalmi win PSL 11 final after beating Hyderabad Kingsmen

Peshawar Zalmi won the Pakistan Super League Season 11 title after successfully chasing a target of 129 runs against Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final. Zalmi achieved the target in 15.2 overs with the loss of five wickets.

Aaron Hardie played a match-winning unbeaten innings of 56 runs, while Abdul Samad contributed 48 runs. For Kingsmen, Muhammad Ali took three wickets, while Akif Javed and Hunain Shah claimed one wicket each.

In the final played at Gaddafi Stadium, Zalmi captain Babar Azam won the toss and chose to field first. Hyderabad Kingsmen were bowled out for 129 runs in 18 overs.

Saim Ayub was the top scorer for Kingsmen with 54 runs, while the rest of the batting lineup failed to make a strong impact. Captain Marnus Labuschagne scored 20 runs, Moeen Sadaqat added 11, and Hassan Khan made 12, while Glenn Maxwell was dismissed without scoring. Seven players of Kingsmen failed to reach double figures.

For Zalmi, Aaron Hardie also impressed with the ball by taking four wickets. Nahid Rana picked up two wickets, while Muhammad Basit and Sufyan Muqeem took one wicket each.

Speaking at the toss, Babar Azam said that playing in front of a large crowd in Lahore always boosts the team’s confidence. He added that understanding the pitch conditions early would be important due to a light grass covering. He also confirmed one change in the team, bringing in Nahid Rana in place of Khurram Shahzad to strengthen the bowling attack.

Hyderabad Kingsmen captain Marnus Labuschagne said his team was fully prepared and that their thrilling win against Islamabad had boosted their confidence. He added that the pitch looked good for batting, but the team was ready to face any challenge and aimed to perform well in the final.
