PSL 11 playoffs begin today as Peshawar Zalmi Face Islamabad United

KARACHI:  The playoff stage of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 kicks off today, with an exciting clash between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United at the National Stadium Karachi. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.

The first eliminator will be played tomorrow in Lahore, where Hyderabad Kingsmen will take on Multan Sultans. The second eliminator is also set to be held in Lahore on May 1, while the grand final will take place on May 3 at the same venue.

Meanwhile, the match official’s panel for the qualifier and eliminators has been announced. Renowned ICC Elite Panel match referee Richie Richardson will officiate the Qualifier on April 28.

On-field umpiring duties for the qualifier will be performed by Chris Gaffaney and Alex Wharf, both members of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires.

For the same match, Faisal Khan Afridi and Zulfiqar Jan will serve as third and fourth umpires, respectively.

Experienced Sri Lankan official Roshan Mahanama will act as match referee for both eliminators. Notably, Mahanama has officiated in every edition of the PSL and has served as match referee in 127 matches so far.

In the first eliminator on April 29, Bangladesh’s Shahid Saikat and Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob will be the on-field umpires. Rashid Riaz will serve as third umpire, while Nasir Hussain will be the fourth umpire.

For the second eliminator, Ahsan Raza and Shahid Saikat will officiate on-field, with Asif Yaqoob as third umpire and Rashid Riaz as fourth umpire.

Traffic Plan Issued for PSL 11 Qualifier Match in Karachi

Meanwhile, a comprehensive traffic plan has been issued to ensure smooth flow of vehicles and facilitate fans attending the Pakistan Super League Season 11 Qualifier match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United at the National Stadium Karachi.

According to Karachi Traffic Police, both sides of Shahrah-e-Faisal (Sir Shah Suleman Road) will remain open for regular traffic. Special parking arrangements have been made at designated locations for match spectators.

Fans arriving from the Karsaz area can access parking via Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road, passing beneath the stadium flyover onto Sir Shah Suleman Road, where parking will be available at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground.

Those coming from Millennium can reach parking spots through Stadium Road and Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi Road, then proceed under the flyover to Sir Shah Suleman Road toward the same designated parking areas.

Spectators arriving from New Town should take Stadium Road and turn left after Aga Khan University Hospital to access parking at the National Coaching Centre and China Ground.

The traffic police further stated that heavy traffic will not be allowed on routes including Sohrab Goth to Nipa, Liaquatabad No. 10 to Hassan Square, PP Chowrangi to University Road, Karsaz to Stadium, Millennium Mall to New Town, and from Stadium Signal to Hassan Square.

Citizens have been urged to cooperate with traffic authorities and law enforcement agencies to avoid inconvenience during match hours.
