
Multiple students injured near University of Iowa in United States on Sunday, April 19.
As reported by the campus and law enforcement agencies police has confirmed 3 people crictically injured on spot while witnessing several others injured.
Police said in a statement that officers responded to a report of a “large fight” on the 100 block of East College Street at 1:46 a.m.,adding that, “Arriving officers heard gunfire.”
Gunshots were reported near College and Clinton streets in Iowa City.First responders reported at least four people with gunshot wounds, provided by Broadcastify.
University President Barb Wilson also confirmed three University of Iowa students were injured in the shooting.
Video shared by multiple news sources shows dozens frantically running.Officers who arrived on the scene also heard gunfires clearly.
The university issued alerts urging the campus community to avoid the area.
As reported by traffic police and other survilliance authorities it is unclear when gunfire began, but additional video on social media shows a large crowd fleeing the scene.
“While we await additional information, I am thinking about these students and their families, friends, and all the people who care about them,” said the University President Wilson “I am holding them close in my thoughts, along with everyone in our community who is hurting or feeling shaken right now.”
