The second round of talks between Iran and United States is expected to take place in Islamabad on Tuesday, with preparations now in their final stages.
According to sources, several areas of Islamabad’s Red Zone and extended Red Zone have started to be sealed. All entry points to the Red Zone will remain closed except Margalla Road, and even there, only individuals with special passes will be allowed access.
Sources also revealed that advance security teams from both countries have started arriving in Islamabad, while the US negotiating team, linked to former President Donald Trump, is expected to reach Pakistan by tomorrow evening.
It is worth noting that the first round of talks between the two countries was also held in Islamabad, where progress was made on key issues.
The US delegation was led by Vice President J. D. Vance, accompanied by Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff.
On the other hand, the Iranian delegation was led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also part of the team.
