High alert prevails across Islamabad

Authorities in Islamabad have imposed restrictions on the entry of unnecessary vehicles into the Red Zone due to security concerns, while several major roads have been closed for traffic.

According to traffic police, routes from Kashmir Chowk to Serena Chowk and towards Srinagar Highway will remain completely closed. Similarly, the stretch from Seventh Avenue Bridge to Serena Chowk has also been shut for traffic.

Citizens have been advised to use alternative routes. Those coming from Bhara Kahu can enter the city via Club Road through Kashmir Chowk, while people using Murree Road can travel to Bhara Kahu through the same route.

Traffic police said that the road from Zero Point to the Seventh Avenue flyover will remain open on both sides. Commuters can also travel from the Seventh Avenue intersection towards G-6, G-7, or Chand Tara Chowk.

In addition, Faisal Avenue, Margalla Road, Nawaz Chowk to F-7 Markaz, Khayaban Chowk to Blue Area, Nazimuddin Road (F-6, F-7), and Fazl-e-Haq Road (G-6, G-7) will remain open for traffic.

Authorities have urged citizens to follow the traffic advisory and avoid unnecessary travel. For updates, people can check the Islamabad Traffic Police’s WhatsApp channel, social media platforms, and ITP FM 92.4.
