Trump announces 50% tariffs on nations supplying weapons to Iran

Donald Trump said that any country supplying Iran with military weapons will face immediate 50% tariffs.

US President Donald Trump said that any country supplying Iran with military weapons will face immediate 50% tariffs with no exemptions, announcing the duty in a social media post one day after agreeing to a two-week ceasefire with Tehran.

Moreover, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States will take proactive measures to alleviate the mounting traffic congestion in the Strait of Hormuz, following a landmark two-week ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran.

The historic truce was finalized mere minutes before Trump’s Wednesday ultimatum for military action against Iran was set to expire. Tehran subsequently confirmed that secure and regulated passage through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz a key artery for global oil shipments would be allowed.

Weeks of near-total disruption had fueled volatility in crude oil markets, driving prices upward across the globe.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: “The United States will be actively assisting with the traffic backlog in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be substantial constructive measures! Massive financial gains are anticipated. Iran can initiate its reconstruction process immediately.”
