Nicole Scherzinger reveals regret over passing on Rihanna’s hit song

She described the decision as her ‘biggest mistake’, drawing surprised reactions from her bandmates
Nicole Scherzinger has revealed that turning down a song later recorded by Rihanna remains her biggest career regret, according to Capital FM.
The singer made the admission during an appearance on Capital FM’s YouTube channel alongside fellow members of The Pussycat Dolls, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Roberts.
The moment occurred during a light-hearted “Finish The Lyric” segment, which prompted Scherzinger to reflect on a missed opportunity.
“I passed on ‘We Found Love.’ I got the demo of that song and I was busy at the time. They’d sent me a few dance tracks and I wasn’t able to get to them and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s so much dance and I want to take a break from it.’ That was my fault. I slept on it,” she said.
The track, which went on to become one of Rihanna’s most successful releases, was instantly recognised by Scherzinger during the segment.
She described the decision as her “biggest mistake”, drawing surprised reactions from her bandmates.
Despite the admission, Scherzinger maintained a reflective and light tone, suggesting that the song ultimately found the right artist.
The moment has since gained attention online, as fans revisit the impact of the global hit.
Scherzinger rose to international fame as the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls and remains a prominent figure in pop music. The group is currently preparing for a reunion featuring new music and a world tour.
