Price of all Metro e-bike models has been increased by Rs5,000, effective immediately.
A local electric bike company, Metro E-Vehicles, has increased the prices of its e-bike models due to rising operational expenses and recent hikes in petroleum prices.
In an official statement, the company said that higher shipping charges, increased logistics costs from Karachi port to production plants, and additional expenses in transporting bikes to dealerships have all contributed to the increase in overall costs.
The company also explained that the recent rise in petroleum prices has added further financial pressure, making it difficult to manage these costs internally. As a result, the price of all Metro e-bike models has been increased by Rs5,000, effective immediately.
Earlier this week, the federal government announced a sharp increase in fuel prices, raising petrol to Rs458.41 per litre and high-speed diesel to Rs520.35 per litre. This was a major jump compared to prices in March, when petrol was Rs321.17 and diesel was Rs335.86 per litre.
Later, the prime minister reduced the petroleum levy by Rs80 per litre, bringing the petrol price down to Rs378.
