Trump threatened to bomb the Islamic republic into the “Stone Ages” with heavy strikes in to coming weeks.
Iran fires more missiles at Israel after US President Donald Trump claims that Washington has destroyed the Iranian military and is close to achieving its war objectives.
President Donald Trump has told the nation in a televised speech that, the war is “nearing completion” and projected another two to three weeks of US involvement. He warned that America is prepared to intensify military operations and threatened to bring Iran “back to the stone ages.”
Trump stated that the US military would continue striking Iran “extremely hard” over the next few weeks while diplomatic talks continue. His remarks, which alternated between calling for diplomacy and threatening further destruction, added to the uncertainty surrounding US strategy.
Trump claimed that Iran’s navy has been destroyed, its air force crippled, and many of its leaders killed. He said the country’s missile and drone capabilities have been significantly reduced, and that weapons factories and rocket launchers have been largely destroyed.
He also emphasized US military successes and reiterated concerns that Iran was close to obtaining a nuclear weapon, although much of its enriched uranium is believed to have been buried after US-Israeli bombing in June.
Iran has maintained daily attacks since February 28, targeting US and Israeli interests, including energy sites, airports, and infrastructure across the Gulf.
On Thursday, Iran warned it would continue its campaign until the US and Israel face “permanent regret and surrender,” according to a spokesperson for the Khatam Al Anbiya central military headquarters, reported by the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
