Google has announced the comprehensive global rollout of its advanced ‘Search Live’ capability, extending access to all markets and languages supported by its AI Mode.
The expansion enables users in more than 200 countries and territories to engage with Google Search through real-time, interactive voice and camera-based experiences.
The initiative is powered by Google’s latest conversational AI model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, engineered to deliver highly natural, context-aware, and responsive interactions.
Built on a multilingual-first framework, the system allows users to communicate seamlessly in their preferred languages, significantly enhancing accessibility while broadening the reach of AI-powered search.
‘Search Live’ has been developed to address use cases where traditional text-based queries fall short, offering users instant, conversational assistance.
Accessible via the Google application on Android and iOS platforms, the feature can be activated by selecting the ‘Live’ icon located beneath the search interface.
Once enabled, users can initiate voice queries, receive spoken responses, and continue a fluid, real-time dialogue, supported by dynamically generated web links for deeper exploration. The experience is designed to mirror natural human interaction, making information retrieval faster, more intuitive, and highly contextual.
In addition to voice interaction, ‘Search Live’ incorporates camera-enabled functionality, allowing users to introduce real-world visual context into their queries. By pointing their device at objects, environments, or scenarios, users can receive tailored insights, practical guidance, and relevant resources based on what the system identifies.
The feature is further enhanced through its integration with Google Lens, enabling a seamless transition between visual recognition and conversational AI, thereby creating a more immersive and comprehensive search experience.
This global expansion represents a significant evolution in the architecture of digital search, marking a transition from static, query-based interactions to a fully dynamic, multimodal ecosystem. By combining voice, vision, and extensive web intelligence, Google is positioning Search as a more adaptive, personalised, and cognitively aligned platform.
The rollout of ‘Search Live’ underscores Google’s broader strategic vision to transform information access into a more interactive, intuitive, and contextually intelligent experience, setting a new benchmark for how users discover, interpret, and engage with information in the AI era.
