The first snowfall and rain of the winter season were recorded on Tuesday across various mountainous areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
ISLAMABAD:
Rains and snow continued to batter upper parts of the country on Thursday as the the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a weather alert.
According to the National Emergencies Operation Center, (NEOC) rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in various areas during the next 12 to 24 hours.
An alert has also been issued for possible snowfall and landslides in northern regions.
The public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures in areas prone to landslides.
A persistent spell of unexpected, heavy, and unseasonal rainfall continued to batter Azad Jammu and Kashmir for the third consecutive day on Thursday, while plunging temperatures sharply and disrupting daily life across the state.
