The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reportedly issued a confidential alert last month warning law enforcement agencies about the potential for Iran to launch surprise drone attacks in California as retaliation for any U.S. strikes.
The multi-agency alert, circulated through the Los Angeles Joint Regional Intelligence Center, came as tensions escalated following the outbreak of war on February 28, marked by large-scale U.S. and Israeli airstrikes in Iran.
Iran, whose supreme leader and other top officials were reportedly killed in the attacks, has responded with missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and several Gulf nations hosting U.S. military personnel.
Multiple U.S. soldiers were killed in a strike on a base in Kuwait on the second day of the conflict.
