Justin Bieber hit with disappointing news as ‘Baby’ song ranks again
Justin Bieber shot to stardom with his song Baby. Released in 2010, the track made the Canadian singer a sensation with the public.
Now, over a decade later, the song is ranked again, but Bieber may not appreciate its new position.
In a list compiled by TheTopTens, Baby is ranked the worst song of the 21st century.
Though the song has a loyal fanbase, there are also many who dislike it for its repetitive structure and high-pitched vocals, making it one of the most disliked music videos on YouTube.
Bieber, similar to the social media reactions, said Baby – at first – was not his favourite track.
In a previous interview with Amazon Music, the musician said, ”I remember hearing the song at first and not — you know, I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this, but I’ll just say it — not being super in love with the song.”
However, his views changed when Scooter Braun, his then-manager, convinced him to listen to the track after adding his vocals.
“When I got my voice on it, I immediately was just like, you know, ‘This is such a special record.’”
Despite the negative reactions, Baby has amassed 3.9 million digital downloads and 1.5 billion streams on Spotify.
