Explosions reported in Tehran as Israel implements nationwide emergency measures
Israel has launched direct military strikes on Iran, significantly escalating tensions across the Middle East. The operations, described as preemptive by Israeli authorities, were carried out in response to persistent security threats and repeated Iranian provocations.
Israeli Defense Minister officially confirmed the attacks, stating:
“Given the ongoing threats from Iran, these decisive actions were necessary to protect our nation and citizens.”
Iranian media report that multiple missiles struck key areas in Tehran, including University Road and the Jomhouri (Republic) district. Smoke and explosions were visible across the capital, though the extent of casualties and damage is yet to be fully assessed.
Immediately following the strikes, emergency sirens blared across Israeli cities. Citizens were urged to move to safe shelters and bunkers. In a sweeping security measure, schools have been closed nationwide, public gatherings suspended, and workers instructed to operate from home. Sirens were also activated in occupied Jerusalem, signaling unprecedented alert levels.
International media confirm that Israel has mobilized its defense systems and security forces to respond to any potential retaliatory strikes from Iran.
This bold military action marks a dramatic escalation in Middle East tensions, as both nations brace for possible further conflict.
