‘Selling Sunset’ Jason Oppenheim and Jessica Vargas split less than a year after confirming romance
The pair announced the news on Instagram, emphasising they ‘still love each other’ despite ending their relationship
Selling Sunset star Jason Oppenheim has confirmed his split from Jessica Vargas, stating the pair “still love each other” despite ending their romantic relationship.
Oppenheim shared the news via Instagram Stories on Sunday, February 15, writing over a black-and-white photograph of the former couple: “We’re no longer boyfriend and girlfriend … but still love each other and still best friends.” Vargas reposted the image, adding: “Love you J & may this type of friendship find us all.”

The couple also issued joint statements to People while attending a wedding together in Hawaii. Oppenheim said, “Jessica is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met, inside and out, and while we won’t be husband and wife, we will be best friends. Having her in my life is what matters most.”
Vargas added, “Jason and I have a lot of love for each other, and that’s not going anywhere. The best outcome for us is staying close and remaining in each other’s lives as best friends. He’s truly a gem of a human with the biggest heart, and I’m grateful for him.”
Oppenheim and Vargas made their red carpet debut in April 2025. Later that month, his former partner Chrishell Stause commented publicly on the relationship. “Oh, I’ve met her,” she said. “She’s really sweet. She’s lovely.” Stause, who previously dated Oppenheim in 2021, married Australian musician G Flip in 2023.
In a December 2025 appearance on Pretty Dirty, hosted by Alex Hall, Oppenheim said he had changed his view on marriage, admitting, “That’s true. I even told her when we were friends. I’m like, ‘No, I’m not going to get married.’ I didn’t see it.”
Both previously stated they do not intend to have children, citing shared values as central to their connection.
