ISLAMABAD:
The Senate on Friday referred an adjournment motion regarding the implications of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (Nepra) prosumer regulation to the relevant standing committee.
The motion, moved by Senator Sherry Rehman under Rule 88 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 2012, sought discussion on the regulation’s potential impact on Pakistan’s clean energy transition as well as the broader macroeconomic effects of continued reliance on costly imported hydrocarbons. The chair, however, referred the matter to the concerned committee for further consideration.
