
LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has officially announced the auction date for the Multan Sultans franchise.
According to PSL officials, the auction for the Multan Sultans franchise will be held on February 9 in Lahore.
A total of five bidders will participate in the auction to acquire the ownership rights of the franchise. These bidders have been shortlisted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Bid Committee.
The PCB stated that six proposals were received within the stipulated deadline. After a detailed and transparent evaluation process, five bidders were declared technically qualified and will now compete in the auction phase.
Officials confirmed that the auction process will be conducted in a fully transparent manner, and upon its completion, the future ownership and administrative direction of the Multan Sultans franchise will be determined.
Earlier, Karachi Kings have strengthened their squad for HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 by signing world-renowned England all-rounder Moeen Ali through the direct signing category.
Moeen Ali, a winner of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, has joined Karachi Kings for PSL 11.
The franchise signed the experienced all-rounder for PKR 64.4 million, marking one of the major acquisitions ahead of the new season.
The England international has previously featured in the PSL, having played in the 2020 edition, and will now represent Karachi Kings in the upcoming tournament.
It is worth noting that Karachi Kings have already announced their four retentions for PSL 11. The retained players include Hasan Ali (Platinum), Abbas Afridi (Diamond), Khushdil Shah (Gold), and Saad Baig (Emerging).
The inclusion of Moeen Ali is expected to add significant experience, balance, and depth to the Karachi Kings squad as they prepare for the new PSL season.
