Internet Gives A Thumbs Down To Blue Ocean Dosa With “Mayonnaise Ka Tadka”

We believe that South Indian cuisine is food for the soul. Be it dosas, aromatic sambar or flavourful chutneys, the cuisine never fails to make us happy. At the same time, we can’t miss but talk about the bizarre food experiments. Remember Maggi idli? Well, joining its league is now Blue Dosa. This quirky dish came to light after a metabolic health coach, Sashi Iyengar, shared a video on X (formerly Twitter). The crazy viral video shows a vendor in Raipur, making this dish. We aren’t sure if the vendor used food colour, as the clip begins with him pouring already-made batter on the hot tawa. After spreading the batter, he added a generous scoop of butter on top of it. Finely chopped vegetables and grated cheese make their much-awaited entry. Wait, there is more. How can you expect a foodie experiment to end without mayonnaise and ketchup? Well, it was their turn next. The vendor mixes it all together to convert it into a paste. We can’t guarantee the taste, but its presentation was truly outstanding. It was served with coconut chutney, onion chutney and green chutney.

This foodie experiment has managed to attract a lot of attention. Several users expressed their dislike over the usage of mayonnaise and ketchup.

A user said, “It looks so yucky…I thought people ate dosas because they craved it…Then why do they need this blue colour incentive.”

Another wrote, “Horrifying. Blue and filled with junk. Overall a poison crepe.”

A few claimed that this is one of the innovative ways to spoil the dish. “Dosa is one of the best dishes South Indians have perfected. Made with Fermented white rice and easy on your gut. But people find innovative ways to spoil it.”
