Strict new rules enforced to stop child marriages

A thorough set of guidelines has been released by the authorities in the former FR Peshawar with the goal of preventing child weddings and guaranteeing more stringent adherence to marriage registration regulations.

The orders were released by the local government assistant director, who directed all council secretaries to rigidly obey the regulations without exception.

The action comes amid mounting worries about unverified and inadequately documented marriages in the region.

According to the correspondence, no application for marriage involving an underage applicant may be processed without thorough age verification. Marriage officials must check a NADRA registration form, school certificate, or birth certificate before registering the marriage.

The directive emphasizes that strict adherence to the regulations is necessary to prevent any underage marriage from being approved.
