Two police officers were martyred on Monday in separate terrorist attacks in Lakki Marwat and Bannu, drawing strong condemnation from national and provincial leaders.

In Lakki Marwat, a police mobile near Katukhel Adda was targeted by an explosion. Officer Alauddin was martyred, while three policemen were injured. They were taken to a nearby hospital, and the area was sealed off by law enforcement agencies.

Police said they had received information about suspicious individuals planning to attack a public gathering. When officers chased them in the Katokhel area, the attacker opened fire on the police and then detonated himself.

According to DPO Nazir Khan, Head Constable Alauddin sacrificed his life but prevented a major terrorist attack, saving many innocent people. The injured officers and Alauddin’s body were moved to DHQ Hospital Tejazai. A police team, led by the DPO, immediately reached the site and launched a search operation.

In Bannu, another attack took place near Sarangi Adda, where constable Muhammad Tariq was martyred after unknown attackers opened fire on him. He was on his way to duty at the RPO office when he was ambushed. A police team arrived and began searching for the suspects. Reports say Tariq had been posted at the RPO bungalow.

Following the incident, the martyr’s family and local residents protested on Miranshah Road, blocking traffic. They demanded the immediate arrest of the attackers and better security for police personnel.
